I have a 4.8.2 dnn instance with 400+ child portals.

I have run upgrade to 4.9.5 as the next version. The upgrade took a long time but output "success" and "click here to go to your portal" was the last line.

Attempting to open the root portal or any child portal results in endless redirect loop as shown by fiddler2.

Site is running as localsystem on iis6.

I've struck this often with various installs (although less often with in-place upgrades) and here's some things you can look at
- Portal Alias table & IIS hostheader
- Redirects, be it domain level, IIS or config (eg a DNN module like iFinity URL Master)
-Permissions - check file and DB security

Thank you for your response.

I made all web.config changes Mitch Sellers recommended in upgrade instructions.

Portal alias entries did not change with upgrade.

There is no iis hostheader set. I tried setting one. Issue remained. Removed hostheader again. Issue remained.

There are no redirect modules in this portal.

Verified db security. Nothing has changed.

Checked and reset file permissions for network service and asp.net. WindowsSignin.aspx does not allow anonymous but this is irrelevant since it does not matter if portal has ad auth or not. Both endlessly redirect.

Issue remains.
