After upgrading my site from 6.x to 7.02, I got the following error when editing in the HTML module and trying to set a link (clicking the link icon)

Web.config registration missing!
 The Telerik dialogs require a HttpHandler registration in the web.config file. Please, use the control's Smart Tag to add the handler automatically, or see the help for more information: Controls > RadEditor > Dialogs > Introduction

I found that the following line was missing from my Web.config

<add name="Telerik_Web_UI_DialogHandler_aspx" path="Telerik.Web.UI.DialogHandler.aspx" type="Telerik.Web.UI.DialogHandler" verb="*" />

 added it in and it works now.

thanks for posting your solution - please note, this typically occurs when a user performs an upgrade and the process cannot update the web.config i.e. either web.config is marked as "read-only" (common if checked out of source control), or else the executing account (e.g. networkservice) is missing modify permission (e.g. only has read/write)

I checked and my app pool identity does have full control over all folders and files in my DNNRoot directory so not sure how this happened.

I should call out as a possible bug that I just downloaded the full 7.0.6 bits and looked in the Web.config that ships, and it does NOT have the Telerik entry I added to address this issue.  Is it possibly missing from this build?

AFAIK the telerik entries will be added during installation as the relevant xml is merged in during installation of the telerik package.
