Hi all,

I want to make custom changes in Dotnetnuke.Common.Gloabals class. I have downloaded source code and included in the website created via visual studio starter kit. But after compiling DOTNETNUKE.DLL is not having modified date as now and still it is having modified date as 11/14/2012. I am actually not getting what i am missing because of which changes in Default.aspx.cs or Dotnetnuke.Common.Gloabals are not forcing Dotnetnuke.dll to recompile.

first off we would never recommend making core changes as you cannot then upgrade without reapplying the changes. However if you need to you use the source version, make the edits and then compile in release mode - you can either copy the updated files from the website bin folder or else edit the sln file and point it to your IIS site;.

Pretty much any change that could be made in the globals class - can be replicated by creating a custom httphandler or httpmodule - if you want to maintain long term compatibility with the dnn core that is the path i would always follow.

If you using DNN7 then you have support for the services framework. That allows you to create a class that implements IServiceRouteMapper.

Code in there is called as DNN starts up so you can use it to hook into the site startup.
