I have upgraded from 7.x to 8.0.  Now when I try to open a forum post, I receive a Page Load Exception.  I could use some help figuring this out.

I am also getting a message that it cannot load containers like DNN-Gray.

containers like DNN-Gray are no longer supported, however, you may remove the dnnactions and dnnmenu tags from source code and it should continue to work.

Thank you for the information about Gray support.

What should I do to make forums not throw a page load exception?

most likely, you need a new version of ActiveForums, a number of 3rd party modules do not support DNN 8 atm.
please read https://github.com/ActiveForums/Activ...
