Hi everyone,
its a great joy to join this group and i hope it will be a wonderful experience for me....I did like to go straight to why i joined the group as i really need help on how to do a project that is due to be reviewed late May this year and i am kind of like new to Java technology which is the technology required of me but with an option of using any other technology that suits me as we used Net beans 5.5 to practice in the university and as i found now higher versions with more functionalities and features have been released....I am gonna drop the question underneath so that any of you that have a clue plus helpful tips on how i can go about it and getting the source codes will give me some useful advice as i not a professional programmer and i don't really know how to go about this and i dont really know how i can enhance the features of Dotnetnuke CMS to complete this project before the submission date.......

1. Using web 2.0 or later technology and Java technology develop an appealing social network site where people from different geographical area would be able to meet and discuss issues that affect them. It must have the features of at least 10 social networking sites, a geographical map indicating their location and must be in 3 local dialect and at least 4 foreign languages of your choice. Also, it is expected of you to add at least 2 new features in your own work that you think will thrill users that is not common or popular with other social networking sites.

2. Build an appealing web portal using Java Technology or any technology that suits you where users from different geographical area would be able to register an e-mail address with at least 1 GB of free space having taken into consideration of at least 5 web portals that offer free e-mail services. The web portal is expected to have spell check and the ability for its users to be able to access and know when the have messages in their other e-mail account among its features with at least 2 new features of your own that you feel is not common with other web portals but could be appealing to users and it should be built in 3 local dialect and at least 4 foreign languages

3. Build an e-commerce social networking site and an e-commerce web portal or using the already built ones, customize it for the university community in such a way that upon the students registration they student gets a bank account with all the banks on campus if they don't already have one which will remain dormant until when activated by the bank upon sending funds to it another secured you choose and if/when they do have a functional bank account,using a built in application(s) will be able to access their bank accounts, pay their school and departmental fees, recharge the credit for their mobile phones from their preferred operator and pay other utility bills..Also, take into consideration that the student might choose to transfer funds from one bank account on campus to another bank account on the same campus or a different campus, transfer to multiple accounts,pay their bills by using an electronic cheque, transfer to a debit or utility card or even send funds to a fellow student who has an account with the website and a bank. Also to take into consideration that sports team would want to pay its athletes some fee for a good outing in the just concluded games and would want to use your secured payroll system to pay its participants promptly and also the Tink Tank group on campus would like its members to pay some fee to register on its website and also pay for its books on line from its website therefore create a web payment template that this group could use in order to integrate with your database to perform their on line needs.
(Hint: Create the site in such a way that the involved banks on campus will be able to have access to students who are interested in banking with them so that the will be able to contact them and subsequently activate the account upon confirmation of the identity of the student and also upon transaction that your application will be able to check if the funds are available and if after transaction the minimum required to keep the account active is still available). Build in 3 local dialect and at least 4 foreign languages

NOTE:
It is strongly recommended that upon completion and submission that you present proper documentation of the 10 social networking sites and 5 portals that you took into consideration when working on you own, the new features you introduced and latest security or encryption technological features (128-bit technology or latest) that you used
when working on your own and the reason for the choice in such a way that you highlight the security threat(risk/fraud) challenge applicable to your project that prompted you to use this security features...You are expected to use Oracle database for the third project, create a means of determining the number of accounts that are activated by individual banks,create a program so that the students will be able to see the statement of their account and all their banking transactions, receive text (sms) alerts for those who subscribe for it when funds enter their accounts and also, introduce a currency of your choice that replaces the local currency when the statement of the bank account is displayed as all the transactions or request in project 3 is expected to be done in the currency of your choice.Also, you are expected to do an extensive research on bank transactions while working on this project

Finally, it is expected that upon completion that you might be told to upload it on a web server for testing and you are required to develop the three projects using Java technology or any suitable technolgy of your choice for hand held devices


I know you might be wondering why am i here rather than signing up on a java site? The answer is that i think microsoft seem to have some more friendly programs that i seem to understand and feel comfortable with than Java itself and i after so many consultations i was adviced to use a CMS as it will be a great way to start even though i might need to do much coding behind.So Please i really need you guyz help on if i can use this CMS to do this project or you could redirect me to the right place where i can get the necessary help that i need as i am not really conversant with applications in most web portals and social sharing network..Thankz
