Scenario:

I am still on the journey of trying to learn how to create modules.  I have a local installation of DNN running, IIS configured, have downloaded the starter kit templates and installed them.  When I opened Visual Studio Web Developer 2008 Express edition, I clicked on the compiled module C# template icon.  This created all the necessary files for me.  Upon creating these files I'm greeted with a screen that says "DotNetNuke DNN_Module Module" with an introduction and a message below that says  * Important *.  It gives me some instructions to do so that the environment will be correctly configured.  It tells me to go into Project Properties, Application tab, and to make sure the Root Namespace is empty and then save the project.

Question:

So when I get over to the properties page and have the application tab open I see Assembly Name and Default namespace.  Is the "Default Namespace" the same as the "Root Namespace"?  I try to delete the name in the Default Namespace and when I do I get an error immediately saying "DefaultNamespace: The entered value for the property 'Default Namespace' is invalid."  Have you had this error?  What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks for any insight...

Regards,

Clint

Clint,

For VB.NET projects it is a requirement to clear out the "Root Namespace", for C# projects the default namespace is needed and will NOT break anything.
