I've been developing dotnetnuke modules for a while now, but I haven't figured out how to put a control inside the zip file with the instalable module, and make dotnetnuke install that control in the controls folder instead of DesktopModules.

I guess it must be some declaration on the .dnn file, but I haven't managed to find out how to do it.

On the same note, how to put a dll inside zip file and have it installed to the bin folder?

Thanks in advance.

I STRONGLY recommend against doing this, as it is not the location that third party modules should be putting things.

However, you can do this using something similar to the following in your manifest.

<file>
    <path>../../Controls</page>
    <name>Your file here</name>
</file>

For DLL's if you are using the 4.x manifest just add them as files to the manifest and DNN will do it.  If you are using 5.x, use an Assembly component.

Thanks, I'm using DNN 5, and using the visual studio adding for creating new modules, which creates a .dnn manifest file, any tutorial on how to use the assemlby component? or creating modules specifically targeted for DNN 5?
