Hello All,

After upgrading a client from version 4.8 to 5.6.2, I noticed that the Inter Module Communication had broken within the site. I've seen lots of people on here say that it broke around version 5, but was fixed sometime later (5.0.1?). For whatever reason, the IMC was broken after their upgrade and didn't work any longer.

After doing some testing, I found something that made it work again. I'm posting it here for the benefit of others who may have the same problem.

The code before read (string literals used instead of the real values)
Dim evt as String = "my imc event name"
Dim patID as String = "0001"
Dim objModuleCommunicationEventArgs1 As New DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.Communications.ModuleCommunicationEventArgs(evt, patID, "mySource", "myTarget")

RaiseEvent ModuleCommunication(Me, objModuleCommunicationEventArgs1)

This code did not work until I added the following after the creation of the ModuleCommunicationEventArgs object
objModuleCommunicationEventArgs1.Sender = "mySource"
objModuleCommunicationEventArgs1.Target = "myTarget"

I haven't looked at the core, but there must be some problem in the constructor of that object that doesn't apply the passed in source and target to the variables inside the object.  After I specified them again individually after the object was created, the IMC worked perfectly again.

Maybe someone from the core team can look into this and fix it for the next release.

-Byron
