Hello Experts and followers,I'm been developing modules for DNN5 and now want to sell it on Snowcovered.com. I want to enforce licensing and limitation to different editions into my developed modules. I want to know the best practices for implementing licensing methods in DNN modules and how to put limitations to usage per portal/domain and etc.

Cheers,
Muhammad Ilyas

theres no real best practices, individual modules/vendors decide on what suits them best e.g. either implement their own licensing (e.g. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libra...) or leverage existing solutions http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovere... or http://www.bring2mind.net/DocumentExc...

Thanks Cathal for quick response to my help request. Please also guide how to implement per portal licensing mechanism in my module development. I want users to buy license for each portal under DNN and how to prevent the module run once per server machine. I mean to prevent its usage on multiple DNN instances.

im afraid i have no suggestions for you as this is not a problem i've had to tackle - we do use a licencing mechanism for dotnetnuke pro/enterprise but it works at the instance level (i.e. the full install)
