Hi,

I have a couple of text fields that are making use of Jquery AutoComplete. I recently wanted to update my module page, so that when a user changed from one radio to another the update panel spinning icon would appear instead of doing a full postback, so I enabled Supports Partial Rendering.

Whenn I first go to the page, the initial autocomplete works and shows up. But if I click a radio button to enable a different text box, the auto complete wont work anymore (going back to the original text box, the autocomplete does not work their either.

If I uncheck Supports Partial rendering, the autocompetes all work as they should.

Does anyone have any experience with this? It seems to be something to do with the DNN update panel.

Thanks,

Chris

If you look at the javascript in any of the core admin modules (as of 6.0) you will see some samples of how to address this. Assuming you have properly registered jQuery UI in your module.

This is a simple sample for your reference (note the javascript section in the link): http://dnnqanda.codeplex.com/SourceCo...

You should note that it is the $(document).ready(function () which accounts for the partial post backs to handle your script registration issues (where it says Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest and it calls the setupTagHistory method again).

Thanks Chris,

Unfortunately I am still unable to get this to work. I do have the Jquery UI registered in the module. All of my autocomplete calls are done inside the $(document).ready( function() could this affect it?

If I put :

Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(function () {

});

in side $(document).ready, and my autocomplete calls are inside $(document).ready, I cant call the autocomplete stuff from the PageRequestManager.

got this working,

I had to put my autocompletes in a function and then use:

Sys.Application.add_load(function (s, e) {
addAutoComplete();
});

the one from the link you posted, would work but only after a postback, the initial load wouldnt run the autocomplete code.
