Hello,

I ran into a little problem using Chris Hammonds templates along with MS build.

During our development phase we are installing the source installer zip file and debugging from there.

The weird thing I noticed is every time after opening the project, the manifest file(.dnn file) within the project doesn't exist.  What I have been doing is unzipping the source installer and adding the file again to visual studio.

Anyone have a workaround for this - is this an MS Build issue or module template issue?

This is a DNN install issue unfortunately, not related to MSBuild. Basically when you install a module, DNN does away with the .DNN file, I'll see if product think's this is an issue that we can handle better in a future release.

I have the same problem, my work around is the same as you are doing, just copy it from another location and put it back in place.

Just a quick follow up, thanks to a tip from Charles Nurse I tested a change to the MSBuild file that makes the package include the .DNN file for a source install (post installation).

If you modify the ModulePackage.targets file to include

<sourceinclude include="**\*.dnn">
That will put it in the module's folder.

Remember when making changes to MSBuild files you have to close the solution and reopen it before the changes will take effect.

I will also modify my templates for this with their next release.

UPDATE: fixed the included code because the quick reply treated it like HTML
