Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to have localization per module instance using the .resx files. For eg, if I have a module, and it has a label called lblName. In one instance of the module, I want the lblName to display "Hello". In another instance of the module, I want it to display "hola". The module instances may be in the same portal. I know DNN allows localization per DNN instance and portal, under Admin -> Languages -> Language Editor.

Thanks,

Han

You could do it by adding a settings property to your module, say called "moduleLanguage" When you add the module to a page you would set the correct language in the settings. Your code in your module would have to read that setting and set the current culture correctly when it loads so that the right resx file is used. this applies to a custom module you create, not existing modules.

Thanks Robert. Actually I don't need the module to display texts in diff. languages. I want the module to display diff. texts based on diff. usage purpose. I think my example above was misleading. But anyway, what you suggested would work for either case, I believe.

However, I was hoping to accomplish this without creating more than one .resx file per user control, like how it is per portal. But I guess this is currently not part of DNN.

Han
