I just can't find any documentation on the core Google analytics module anywhere...Can't even find its project page...anyone?

The purpose of this post is to 'update' the public that third generation of Google Analytics code snippet is released and it is suggested to be put just before header tag instead of body tag to improve the page rendering speed. Since we all know that DNN is pretty slow and every single details count when comes to optimization.

If we compare to free Google Analytics plugin available for Wordpress, it is super user friendly which enable normal users to ignore certain users, admin, track download files, external link tracking etc etc all in user interface setting.

Btw, this one is good although it is not using the latest snippet: Google Analytics Evolved by Oliver Hine

For those who need a simple solution to implement the new asynchronous snippet, please follow this Implementing Google Analytics Asynchronous Snippet in DotNetNuke.

Lastly, just hope that there will be more documentation on the core Google Analytics module for more people to improve it rather than building a lot of third party modules which ended up all unmaintained and outdated.

Thanks,
George

there is some documentation in the help documentation , you can view the online version @ http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Support/Help/tabid/787/Default.aspx . Due to a bug I can't give a direct link to the page, but if you expand managing content for specific modules and then content modules you'll see it. Note: the professional version of the module has a more advanced google module.
