I just tried putting the Events 6.0.4 package through EVS - I'm doing some development on the module at the moment and thought I'd fix any errors identified.

Our package requires DNN6 as a minimum so we have only included a .DNN6 manifest, no .DNN manifest. This produces an error. Is this really an error, since we have no install problems with only having a .DNN6?

Good work by the way!

Cheers
Roger

Hello Roger,

Thanks for the feedback.

I've still got some work to do regarding scanning the various manifest types (.dnn, .dnn5, .dnn6) however, I've pushed live an update so that should get it working for you.

Now when EVS is scanning a extension that has only one manifest, it will process that manifest. If your module has more than one, it will currently only process the lowest one. Eventually, I would like to process each one found and alert errors and warnings for each one and also to potential differences between each manifest.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Cheers,

Nathan Rover

Hi Nathan,

Thank you for rapid turn-around! So just ran it through again, and it has processed my dnn6 manifest, and associated SQLDataProviders.

In the data providers is has highlighted a set of SQL Azure issues. However with the events module at version 5.2.4 we reset the database build bu using an Install.05.02.04.SQLDataProvider which in theory should be Azure compatible, rather than going back and correcting all old versions and risking errors.

This leads to two questions:-
1. Are you processing the Install. files?
2. In theory if there is an Install. file, you don't need to process older files - well that is nearly true, because the Install. file is used for new installs. It just might make problems in older files into warnings rather than errors. Thoughts?:

Thanks
Roger

Going further, you incorrectly report a warning on Cleanup files. We include these as separate files for each version of the module, and these are included as a Cleanup type Component in the manifest file. You report this warning:-

A file (\installation\cleanup\cleanup.04.01.02.txt) was found in the extension that was not included in manifest.

Cheers

Hi Roger,

I've fixed the two-way file checker, it should now correctly handle the cleanup files.

Hopefully this week I will have time to knock out the issue with the azure check regarding the install file.

Cheers,

Nathan Rover
