There seems to be an error in the Min DNN version. Here is my manifest:

and here is the result:

Am I doing something wrong? Do I misunderstand something?

Best wishes

Hello Michael,

Currently EVS computes the min DNN version by reflecting the assemblies referenced in the extension. Eventually I would like to add a method to check and see if there is a difference and Warn if the core version in the manifest is too high, and and error if the core version is too low. Could you send me the package in question so that I can see if it's being correctly evaluated?

Thanks for the feedback.

I believe it should, amongst other checks, check on the .NET-version too; DNN 7 is the first DNN-version that uses .NET 4 from core, so the least (advised) min DNN-version should then be 7.

Also I would suggest to also evaluate UI/UX-patterns (as documented and used by DNN) to determine whether controls (and thus the module) are designed for usage within DNN pre-6, 6 or 7.

Just some ideas :-)

Hello Kornelis,

EVS does check for the minimum .NET version as well as the minimum DNN version. A new version of EVS has gone live and will now issue a error is the minimum DNN version in the manifest is lower than the detected version based on the assembly references. See here for more info about this update: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/B...

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,

Nathan Rover
