While the new release fixed some issues reported with the News module v04.00.00, not all were addressed.  Some folks will still see their feed 'fail to download'.  I've not reviewed all of the source, but I do know that some non-standard pubDate feed elements will cause this error still.  Also, Atom feeds choke in some cases.  See my blog for more info.  For now, you can still use the XML/XSL module with a custom XSL for these feeds. 

Please respect the advice that Peter gives, and I've made a practice of repeating so often - test any new release in a non-production area.  This allows you a safety net in case the new release does not perform as expected, and prevents a working site from biting the dust.
