I am so excited about this but I'm still having trouble with my feeds!  I downloaded and installed the upgrade, then restarted the whole application, but I still get the "Download error" when I add my XML feed from Utterli. The site is http://johnmunger.com.dnnmax.com. Any idea?

Post the url you are using in the setup of the module.  My guess, though, is there are some additional custom namespaces included or  a dtd doc that won't play well with some browser support.

Cheers

Blondie,

I found the newsfeed source, and as I suspected, viewing the source shows the use of a custom namespace that is a dtd, which is not allowed in either the XML/XSL or RSS Newsfeeds modules.  Any newsfeed with a reference to a dtd document will not translate in DNN.  Looking at the source, I see:

<rss version="2.0"
 xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd"
 xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/">

The namespace for itunes is the offending piece.  DNN does not allow dtd's while doing compiled transformations in the default XML/XSL and RSS News Feeds modules for security reasons.  You would need to alter the source code for whatever module you wanted to use to specify settings to allow use of DTD.

There may be some commercial modules, like a podcast module that could do the transform and present it in a DNN site.  At least that's what I see.

Is there still problems with consuming rss-feeds from the Announcements module?
