Hello,

I have been looking in to DNN and trying out the various features.

In the repository module can you pls advise on the following :

  • How can i add a functionality that when a user click on the link of the document it opens in a new window and not the same?
  • How can i access the code and if i can change it to my requirements?

Please advise.

I believe what you are describing in the behavior of the browser. When you download a file, the browser will look at the file type and if it knows what the file type is it will open the document with the default behavior for that file type. For example, downloading a PDF file will open directly in the browser window IF you have the Adobe plugin installed, or pop an Open/Save dialog if you do not. The behavior may be different for different users depending on their browser and their environment.

I would also highly suggest reading the Admin/Users Guide to understand the module and the templating functions before making any code changes. You can download the Guide on the Repository project's Downloads Page.
