I wanted to add a postscript to my Webhost4Life issue. I just received an email from them and they increased my ftp quota another 2GB.

Though my short term issue is resolved does anyone have advice on a file sharing host that I could integrate with the Repository?

I guess people at Webhost4Life don't talk to each other. Got this first email from Jeff yesterday in response to my email to the CEO.

Dear Customer,

We have reviewed your files and see that it is within the terms of service.  Therefore, we have increased your quota 2 more Gigs.  Thank You.

Got this one this morning from Thomas in their support group.

Dear customer,

We do not allow backup storage on shared hosting server. If the upgrade is completed, you have to download the backup folder to your local PC.

We will evaluate your account files again after you downloaded and removed the backup file.
Thanks.

They are lots of fun to deal with. Any suggestions for a better provider?

"Better provider" is a relative term.  I'm with ORCSWeb and they're phenomenal.  But you pay for it.

As for your original problem, you might look at some of the Flickr, Youtube or other sharing sites and the many third party modules for DNN that integrate them.

It depends on what kind of access you need to give out but Amazon S3 storage is an excellent value. With the right tools you can map it as a network drive or drag and drop with FireFox add-ons. It's dirt cheap and super fast.

What tools would I need to connect the Repository upload process to one of their storage accounts?
