I really believe the Repository is one of the best core DNN modules, easy to customize and with no known issues.

Have been using it for job postings and classified listings.

I would like to use it for other listings, of which a total are approx 10,000 records with free text records, telephone numbers and images

I had a look at the database tables and noticed all the records are in one table for all the module instances installed. If I implement the  the 10,000 records would that degrade the performance.

And is there a limit to number of records the module can handle without any performance issues?

Thanks for your feedback

with the proper indicies, there shouldn't be any performance issues.  i think with the latest releases of the module, the proper indicies are in place.  The  main performance bottleneck will be with the associated tables, ie: categories and attributes.  If you can limit the use of attributes i think you should be fine. Either way, you should feel comfortable using the module. If you do have any issues, the solution will most likely involve some sql execution plan tracing to help add the proper new indicies.  If you do find you have an issue let me know and I will help you as much as I can

Good luck and thanks for the kind words.

Hi Salem, just a big thanks for posting this up. I had always bypassed the Repository Module in the past for some reason, not realising its capabilities. Having looked at it now, I realise it is probably suitable for a project I am working on and will hopefully save me buying a third party option. Cheers!

You can visit my portal and the implementation of the module:

One is for aircraft listings for sale, purchase or lease, it can apply to any equipment listings:

The Other two are for Job Offers and Jobs wanted.

http://arabaviation.com/AviationJobs/tabid/240/Default.aspx

The forms & listings are all pure HTML, with tokens, so for a non coder and with basic HTML knowledge it can be customized with ease.

My last question was basically for a directory listing  will compile.

once completed will post the url in the near future.

Forgot to mention there are a number of templates with the module that with little customization u can have your app up and running. But it would be good practice once you customize the template, give it a diffeernt name , as when u will update the module, it will not overwrite your customization.

Like you have looked at different 3rd party modules and some have installed their trial, but to be honest nothing beats DNN Repository!

Enjoy it

Thanks for the links, Salem, certainly looks just what I'm after. I do so hate paying for modules when I don't have to!
