I'd like to refer someone to a page Icreated using the repository.  I set the page with a filelist repository template and then setup a dashboard on the page.

I"d like to try 2 things here, first I would like to send someone to this page with the list already filtered.

Alternatively i would like to link directly to the file from another page in DNN.

If the functionality isn't already in The repoistory module is there a way to expose this functionality through another module?

I was looking for the same functionality.  I am not sure of the post but it said if you use the DNN search to look for the document you will be able to use the link that the search engine returns ....or you can goto the file manager and put together a url from your site url and the file name.  I have not tried the first one yet.

This is a big missing piece of functionality I find. Hopefully in future versions this can be addressed.

Using the link created by DNN search is the best way to get a prefiltered link to send someone.

Direct linking to a file (what you'd be doing if you put together the URL via the File Manager) isn't a missing piece of functionality as it's not the intention of the Repository. One of the reasons the hash code is injected into every filename that's uploaded is to prevent just that. Files downloaded directly don't get counted as part of the download counts which can skew the numbers.

MIke,

I was rather tired when I wrote this so it didn't come accross properly.  What I want to do is use a link from the category within the repository dashboard, or directly to the repository that will filter the list by the inputted value.

Here's an example. I have a page that contains all the downloadable forms on our website. http://beta.wsysa.com/tabid/103/Default.aspx Now as you can see there are many categories,  I would like to create a link like the following http://beta.wsysa.com/tabid/103/Default.aspx?category=league or use the dnn method http://beta.wsysa.com/category/league/tabid/103/Default.aspx then have that link auto filter my list when the page appears.

In the Repository dashboard you use the ASP:LinkButton to allow people to click on and filter categories.  What i am suggesting is that you change this to use the ASP Hyperlink then use the navigateurl with parameters to populate those options.  This and then changing the way the page reads your filter could allow this module to be used differently.
