Hi!

I am using a UDT with Rendering Method "Default Grid" to let users upload images with descriptions (and some more meta information). My current project requires me to setup views of the UDT like this:

1) a site admin creates a new page with a view on the existing UDT
2) the admin applies a default filter setting to which items should be displayed on this page
3) a non-admin user (of a specific user role) must be able to change the filter setting (globally for all users, NOT only for himself) to overwrite the default filter set by the admin and display different items

Ideally the filter settings should be displayed and be changable when in view mode without using the admin menu (so the user does not need the right "Edit Module") and most ideally with a somewhat more userfriendly way to set the filter ;).

Any pointers how i can achieve this? Is it possible at all? And if not does anyone know about a different module that can do this (i wouldn't mind trying out betas)?

Kind regards and thx in advance,

  Stefan

Stefan,

Page autors, who are granted to enter manage table, can specify a filter, but this is not displayed on the data view. Edit Module is needed to be able to do any modification. I don't get your specific requirements, can you please be more specific and give an example?

I use the UDT so users can upload images and add some meta information to it, for example a breif descrioption, a long description, an url, ect. This list is visible to all users and any user may upload images.

Now i need to create pages for something in the line of "Images of the week". An admin will create the page referenceing the original UDT and narrowing the list of displayed items down to display a range of specific images of the admins choice using the filter setting: Image ID IN (1,20,34, 76).

Any user who is able to view the page must now be able to change which images are displayed (by altering the filter settings) in the case he does not like the admins suggestion.

Maybe the UDT is not the module which i would need to achive this but it seems the one that seemed to match those requirements.

... hope that helps to understand what i need to do!

Regards,

  Stefan

I am sorry, but tis special use case is not supported by the module. you may either create you custom version or need to develop an individual one.
