I am developing a simple work order request form and want the admin to be notified whenever someone has submitted a request (just like the DNN feedback module). It would seem you should simply enter the email address for the notification destination, but that is not working. I get the following message:

"Tracking/Notification issue: don@lakesidewebd.com is not a valid email address. If you want to add a field, please surround your input with square brackets."

I do not understand the Form and List help text for the "To" field. Is there a simple way I can have someone notified when a record is submitted? I have tried the brackets approach and it still does not work. I am sure I must be missing something obvious here.

Just enter your email address don@lakesidewebd.com without any brackets and it should be fine.

If the system still complains, please check Admin->User Accounts->User-Settings whether the regex for Email address validation is compliant to your email address.

Thanks for the response. I was afraid that might be the issue. This customer is a school with a fcboe.org email domain. I set the validation to that domain so their staff and faculty would be the only users allowed to register. The unfortunate issue is that as host, I do not have a fcboe.org email address and am therefore unable to verify the operation of the workflow of this module without involving someone at the school. Other modules (like feedback) allow me to receive the emails with no problem. Is there a way around this...perhaps a way to add lakesidewebd.com to the validation string?

Yes, modifing your validation string would solve your problem. Idon't know your current regexp, though alternatives are usually entered as (?:fcboe.org|lakesidewebd.com)
