Hello,
on a couple of sites where I use the FNL I get a weird error which I traced back to originate from the script on form.aspx. The funny thing is that the error is shown to visitors only and goes away when logged on. I am using dnn 6.2.4 with hosted jquery. Any idea on how to fix that, please?
Thanks,
Franco

typically this means that a dependency (such as jquery) has not correctly been registered so is not available to all users (i.e. when you log in jquery is registered for all users so the error goes away). As such this would be an issue in FNL, I would check the version and see if an updated release was made available to fix. However you are using 6.2.4 and I recall there being an issue with hosted jquery around the 6.2.x timeframe so it's probably that i.e. you can fix it by using the local jquery version or by upgrading DNN to a more version (I actually think that issue was fixed in 6.2.7)

Hi Cathal,
thanks for your explanation, it sheds some light on this obscure issue. FYI, the local or hosted jquery does not make a difference, I tried it already. So perhaps is not a jquery issue?

As I am running the latest F&L the remaining option is to upgrade. However, there are other problems introduced in 6.2.5 and yet unresolved, so I'd rather stay with my version. Could I patch myself this sort of bad registration? How could I fix it?

As you don't have the issue with the default skin, this is most likely an issue with your skin.
On your test page I still see an extra registration of jQuery in the source:

<script type="text/javascript" src="/Portals/_default/Skins/BeModern/BeModernMenu/js/jquery-1.3.2.min.cs.js">

I thought you removed it from the skin?

Hi Timo,

I was also convinced it was the skin, but the same skin without the FnL shows no error. I have the error with another skin too from another vendor and only on the pages where FnL is placed. I have also discussed with the skin vendor and after having removed that jquery declaration (which is there logged in and not logged in) the error still shows up and only when not logged in.

My conclusion is that it is a combination on dnn 6.2.4 and FnL (because it calls the dnnpanels plugin).

P.S. Removing that jquery version, besides not solving the issue, introduces another error due to a missing function ("Uncaught ReferenceError: jQueryCS is not defined"). That's why I put it back in again. In theory that declaration for an oder jquery should screw things up, but without that things are worse off...
