Hi,

i have a question ? Is there a way to keep deleted messages in the database. The forum will be used to ease the discussion between many teams of developper in our company and the security want to keep track of deleted message in case something harmfull has been said.

I believe you would have to modify the behavior of the core module to accomplish this task, but I believe it is possible with minor changes, depending on how you want to have the deleted records displayed.

i don't really care about it beeing displayed. it's just to have a backup of the deleted messages in another table or in the same table with a deleted flag so that it won't be displayed. It would probably be ok for the security department and anyway i don't think we would be using it at all.

If that is all you need then you should be able to get by with adding a few ondelete triggers and quickly writing the deletes off to a separate table as they are removed from the database.

It isn't the best solution but it can avoid making any modifications to the core.

You would just need to view the table manually or via the reports module with a specific query to view deleted posts etc.
