As a DNN newbie, I just upgraded from 3.20.09 to 4.04.03 and wish I hadn't. I like some of the new features, but by not letting old themes work, my site look has been screwed up.

I tried "installing" 3.20.09 back over to downgrade, but DNN won't let me do that. Is it possible? Or alternatively, is there any documentation anywhere on how the look of forums can be changed?

Skining information you can find on http://www.skin3.com/Resources/DNNForumsSkinningResources/tabid/352/Default.aspx .  A downgrade only works if you have a backup and restore your files and database.

Regards

Matthias
