I have asked on this one quite some time ago... but had no luck.

We just made a post in our forums... say 12:00 our local & computer time (Poland -> GMT+1) which is also the user time in DNN.

The server is physically in Arizon, but clock is set to UK Time (ie GMT+0), which is also the setting for the portal in DNN. So at the time of the post, UK time was 11:00.

Times are working fine for other modules, such as the Blog module.

So why would the post time now show as 04:00?

What settings should I have to get the posts showing correct times?

Thanks

David

What is the TimeZone Settings of your Portal?

I agree with David.  The Forum does not display what I expect as the correct posting time.

My server is in the UK and set to UK time.

My DNN portal timezone is set to UTC.

I am in the UK.  So I would expect a post at say 12:00 (UK time) to show up as 12:00 in the Forum.  Instead it shows as 04:00 which would be California time.  Strangely the EMAIL I get sent from the forum HAS THE CORRECT TIME.

Hi David,

I think I have the answer to this.  I just discovered that my profile timezone was set wrong.  When logged in, click on your display name (top right hand corner).  Click Manage Profile.  Scroll to the bottom and check what your time zone is set to.

It's fixed my problem.  I was set to California time - GMT-8!

The portal is set as UK, but should it be set to that?  Physically located in Arizona, but the server clock is set to the UK (or is it? Looks that way to server admin).

Unfortunately the email notifications aren't working so that doesn't help. I had already checked on the user settings and all are right. Just did a test post and 15:00 UK time is showing as 08:00.  Glad you sorted your prob out Richard!

I can only think the server clock is not what I think it is and I have to change the Portal settings.  Will see what I can find out on the server.

Thanks
