If you upgraded your dnn version and geting there errors, of cause this can caused this error.  About the timzone is geting from it for the Forum.  Ocoures there an error, so you see it in the forum too.

The problem is now if you don't know what all the errors where, you must be checked complete Database with a other database of same dnn version with same Modules.  Also some SQL knowledge is needed then.

It is recommand, if you have any errors on upgrading to fix this quickly, and before you done the next upgrade.

It is unfortunate it seems to only be affecting the forums.

At the time of the errors I asked or help on the forums (no luck), and a programmer I contracted to help said if everything was working fine, which it had been, then I should ignore it else it could be a big task.

One thing that is happening, when I delete the posts in our forums... a blank notification email is being sent. I can only presume this shows it is slightly working... so would this point to DNN core problems, or to Forum file problems (bearing in mind problems only appear in the forums)?

How do source files get installed? Can I simply write over the installed files with the source files I downloaded? I would certainly do it "a file at a time".

I wonder why though, I never get notifications from DNN's own forums?

Might it be feasible to setup a new DNN installation? Is it "easy" to import a whole portal & data into a new DNN installation? I am thinking it may be the only option to move forward.

:-( but thanks!

David

The Forum Module is a compiled module, so you need visaual studio 2005 prof, with WAP installed.

I think you habe to do a new test installation with dnn version you have on your production envoyement.  Then install the forum module, make the same settings as in production, and then check.  If it worked as well, so check the differnce to the Forum database artifacts between both databases.

I did not know yet what version of dnn you are using.  Have you ever installed a Forum beta?

Hi Matthias

I will be trying a new DNN Install. Hopefully this will get me on track... clean DNN installation of v4.6.2 (my current version)... then copy the DB to SQL Express (just setup on the server) and see if the DB is ok, but with new DNN.  Not a big job like that I think/hope, and can have a clean new DB to switch back to if not ok.

I have raised some queries on the configuration forum, to get advice on moving forward but slowly working my way through it.

I have never installed a Forum Beta. Always just the DNN released versions as I don't know enough to handle Beta versions!

Thanks for your help so far (Did click Answered but an error cam up about integers)

Cheers

David

Another user has mentioned this issue with blank delete notifications.  I tested that scenario on my test DNN install (DNN 4.08.00 Forums 4.4.3).  Iget the notification I would expect, not a blank notification.  I posted about that earlier today on this forum.
