Bill, if the Bcc is not the problem it is the 4.x issue I mentioned earlier in this thread.

Can anyone confirm it is working for all notifications on 4.x?

I contacted GoDaddy and got the usual worthless response, i.e "we don't support it", even though the question I asked was does the smtp relay block messages that are only populated in the BCC field. The first tier help cannot answer the question and I cannot get them to escalate it, because I cannot provide logs or other objective evidence it is not working. Very frustrating... I would appreciate any input.

I pounded on them until I got this:

"Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your reply. I apologize for the previous confusion. I have sent this issue up with our Advanced Host Support and they were able to setup a script for your hosting account to test if BCC works with our relay hosting server. Using CDONTS we were successful in sending a BCC message to a different address. Your hosting account seems to be functional and this looks like there is either a configuration problem, or a problem with the way dotnetnuke is sending mail. Unfortunately, we cannot troubleshoot the use of a 3rd party application. Please contact us if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,
Scott P.
Customer Support"

I am hoping one of the core team members will respond to this, expand on it, or otherwise give me hope for a workaround.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Well as I mentioned, Host Settings for SMTP are fine and it’s working for user registrations and password reminders without any problems; it’s just the forum notifications I’m having trouble with.

Could you or anybody please tell me how to configure the SMTP??.

I have problems and it send me the next error message when i try to test the SMTP Server: Mailbox name not allowed. The server response was: sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

HI Dilshan,

can it be that there is a wrong mail adress of a user in the users setting?  So some mails with - in the mailadress makes problems in DNN.  You can sett this in the Profile settings.

Regards

Matthias
