Does anyone have a clue what could be the problem?

Well it is allready handled in serveral threads in this Forum.  Subscriped to all Forums in your "My Settings" save, Try to add a new thread/post.  If it worked you can unsubscript to the Forum Notifications in the "My Settings" and save it.  Issue will fixed in next release.

I have this problem in 5 websites with over 400 users. Can't tell that many users to do this work around.  At the core, what is it that Subscribing then UnSubscribing does to allow New Thread posting to work?

Could you possibly inform us what is causing this or give us a hint of where in the code this is happening, I'd like to fix this since telling my 2500 members to do this is a rather pointless exercise. maybe a script to fix it, since it sounds like a data issue.

since Matthias is not a programmer, this needs to be answered by Chris.
