Hy,

following error occours again and again on a very high frequency when using the forum.

Stack Trace:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.ForumUserController.FillForumUserInfo(IDataReader dr, Int32 PortalID, Int32 ModuleID) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.ForumUserController.UserGet(Int32 PortalID, Int32 UserId, Int32 ModuleID)

Due to this, an enormous amount of event-log entries are written and the database grows up fastern than light. Any ideas what's going wrong?

Have you try to clear the event log? Check also the database log file.  A complete errorlog will be more helpfull.  Could also be that a crawler checks for e-mail addresses.

I'm experiencing the same thing.  The only log entry is exactly of what was posted here.  Though you could be correct that the error only occurs when a crawler tries to access the forum.

To come over it you can check the browsers in the event logs and check if all from the same site (check called URL), if  yes please post complete log.
