Hello, we're new to the Dot Net Nuke Community. We've been working with the Forums aspect of the Modules and have encounter a problem. When we or another member of our site tries to embed an object, like a video from You Tube, it gets stripped out of the posting. We will use the Source edit available in the tool bar (upper left here) to add the embed code. Then we can use the preview to see the video and it works great, however, when the posting is submitted the embedded object gets stripped out. We have updated the forum to the latest level, 4.5.3, and it still does the same thing. Below is a generic example code used to embed:

<object width="425" height="344">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/>Y o u T u b e T a g<&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6"></param>
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param>
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/>Y o u T u b e T a g<&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed>
</object>

Also, we have use the Flash Insert/Edit to try this and it too does not work.

Thank you,

Doug

I remember a user have figured out how to get work Youtube video on FCK editor in the Forum.  Please search the Forums Forum for that post.

Sorry to bother you again.

We have tried a search and keep getting the same error:

Error A critical error has occurred.
Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding

We had one successful submission and haven't been able to get by this error since.

Thank you,

Doug

Sorry Doug,

I come to the same issue, but it is a known issue on the old Forum 4.4.3 which is still used here.  I have to searche like you.  Try to use the page search please.

Thanks

Doug, the embed object is stripped via the core security filter. All forum posts go through this filter to avoid XSS and several other potential issues. Cathal has previously mentioned possibly adjusting this security filter in the future for the embed object but for now things are working as expected.
