I have been updating my website and have brought the site up to DNN 5.06.00 (459).  I ran into a install error involving the wrong version of the Telerick dll.  I ended up copying the that file from the full install on my site to resolve the issue.  I then upgraded forums to 5.0.0. There were no errors listed in the install I did over the previous one.  I saw no instructions on doing a upgrade so just installed over the current version.

I can load the page with the forums but when I clickk on any of the individual forum topic areas I get this message at the top of the form.

A critical error has occurred.
Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Web.UI, Version=2010.1.309.35, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=121fae78165ba3d4' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

The event viewer shows the following.

I'm sure the forum is trying to reference the previous vesion of Telerik.  Where do I find this reference and how can I correct it.

Thanks Mike

Since the Telerik extension package did not install correctly, in addition to manually copying the Telerik.Web.UI.dll assembly file to the site's /bin folder, you will also need to manually modify the site's web.config file to add the following assembly binding redirect within the <runtime><assemblyBinding> . . . </assemblyBinding> section of the web.config file:

<dependentAssembly>
        <assemblyIdentity name="Telerik.Web.UI" publicKeyToken="121fae78165ba3d4" />
        <!--Upgraded by DotNetNuke.Telerik.Web version 5.6.0 - Date: 11/18/2010 12:23:35 PM-->
        <!--<bindingRedirect oldVersion="2008.0.0.0-2020.0.0.0" newVersion="2010.02.0929.35" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" />-->
        <bindingRedirect oldVersion="2008.0.0.0-2020.0.0.0" newVersion="2010.02.0929.35" />
 </dependentAssembly>

As this is apparently an upgrade of an earlier version of DotNetNuke, there will most likely be a previous Tekerik.Web.UI bindingRedirect already in place. Be sure to comment out the old version's bindingRedirect

I get the same error with a fresh install of 5.06.00.  I noted it uses Forum 5.0.0 so I upgraded to 5.0.1 but still the same error.  I didn't copy any files yet and my  runtime is:

<runtime>
    <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1">
      <probing privatePath="bin;bin\HttpModules;bin\Providers;bin\Modules;bin\Support;" />
      <dependentAssembly>
        <assemblyIdentity name="Telerik.Web.UI" publicKeyToken="121fae78165ba3d4" />
        <!--Upgraded by DotNetNuke.Telerik.Web version 5.6.0 - Date: 1/14/2011 3:30:55 PM-->
        <!--<bindingRedirect oldVersion="2008.0.0.0-2020.0.0.0" newVersion="2010.02.0929.35" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" />-->
        <bindingRedirect oldVersion="2008.0.0.0-2020.0.0.0" newVersion="2010.02.0929.35" />
      </dependentAssembly>
    </assemblyBinding>
    <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" appliesTo="v2.0.50727">
      <dependentAssembly>
        <assemblyIdentity name="System.Web.Extensions" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" />
        <bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0-1.1.0.0" newVersion="3.5.0.0" />
      </dependentAssembly>
      <dependentAssembly>
        <assemblyIdentity name="System.Web.Extensions.Design" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" />
        <bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0-1.1.0.0" newVersion="3.5.0.0" />
      </dependentAssembly>
    </assemblyBinding>
  </runtime>

Any ideas??
