Upgrade the forum module to 3.20.08, it is well worth it and I think it may fix this problem.

(I know that version has a bug w/ regards to Forum User data, so it won't save it)

Hi,

Can I just ditto ray...

DNN 4.3.1.
Forums 03.20.06, then 03.20.08.
Gallery 03.01.12.

Rays explanation is spot on. In the configuration page it picks the correct image for your avatar, but when you update to save settings/data, the avatar does not appear, and when you return to your settings page, the file previously chosen for your avatar has disappeared.

I want to know how crispy gets his extra avatars on this DNN forum. 

The forums look great now, but the avatars differentiate users from a glance. Thanks Crispy.

Crispy,  I am on 03.20.08 but have the same problem as discussed early in this thread.  I have all the galleries set up and can upload my avatars, but when I try to assign them to the user, it does not save.  Also, The user account can not see the list of available avatars and when they upload and save, it does not work either.  IDEAS???????

My hosting provider is upgrading the forums module on my site today. I'll post the results when I can try it out with the new version.

After upgrading the Forums module to 3.20.08, I am still having the exact same behavior with respect to the avatar setting.
