Using Server iis 6 , SQL 2000 and DNN 4.3.4 and forum version as packaged with this release

My problem is when trying to add a group the error is presented as below

 

A critical error has occurred.
Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster.

This occurs when logged in as a host or admin user

It is not being run on a web farm or cluster - I am very puzzled
