Hello,

I updated my DNN to 3.1.1 and now I want to update my forum as well. I did a test om a copy of my website in witch a filled forum is present. The installation runs until the end shows an SQL error about an "Unique key" or something like that.

Is ther a way to preserve the old forumdata, or to restore this after upgrading?

Thanks,

Jos

I need details of what original dnn version prior to 3.1.1 upgrade.  I also need to know what previous forums version.  During the upgrade from 3.0.x to 3.1.0 there was a change made in module definition items, this is probably the problem but i need to know version numbers to be sure.

Hi Crispy,

I merely followed all the upgrades as they were released....
The latest forumupdate resulted in a total loss of threads as well, but I managed to copy-paste most of them to the latest version from a databasebackup...

DNN version 3.1.0; ForumBlog version 03.00.00

DNN version 3.1.0; ForumBlog version 03.00.11

DNN version 3.1.0 ---> DNN Version 3.1.1; ForumBlog version 03.00.13

--------------------

Everything works fine now, but upgrading the forum in a DNN 3.11 with Forum 03.00.13 testcopy I got a total loss of threads.

Thanks,

Jos

For anyone else to avoid this they should upgrade to the latest forums 3.10.04 as what happend was the module was renamed in the dnn upgrade process.  The older version of the forums used the older definition friendly name so on install it created a whole new module.  If you looked in the DesktopModules table you would see the dual instances w/ different version numbers.  All the data is still in the db.  If this happens to anyone else, the best thing to do is alter the table definitions and make sure the ModuleID lines up properly.

Hello Crispy,

When I upgraded to 3.10.04 I got the Index conflict error. However, when I looked into the database, all of my data was deleted by the upgrade version.

thank you
