Hi,

I browse the forums a lot (just like any DNN newbie) and I would love to have a bookmark funktion in the forums. Sometimes I come across a genious post that's just awesome and I'd like to flag it so when I log in I have a search view to my bookmarked/flagged messages just as I have to "my" posts. Or have a sort of post-it functionality where I could add a comment for myself without posting anything to the forum. Like, you know, personal comment like "This would work great for project XYZ" or "Hmm... this could work, must test later" or "Wonder what John would say about this..."

Just a thought.

This was actually added in Gemini as an enhancement request over a year ago. I'm having a hard time seeing where this fits in with so many other important things ahead of it. (Not that this isn't important to some, I just really try to gage important based on what I see here along w/ feedback I receive) In the next version you will see I start to address this in another way by adding post status. This allows a user to set a post to answered/unanswered. (The original poster or moderator can do this) The post which is marked as an answery (if applicable) has an Accepted Answer note in its heading. To touch more on your request though, the module has ratings now and it also has an unused column 'comment' which is probably more of what you are talking about. This and a combination of more search options (to get you to the content you desire the most) is no small task and requires some serious thought especially around performance.

Hmm... or is it? I meant it as a personal note, and maybe that could be handled as a sort of Links collection along side the forum, since the comment is not for everyone. To save on performance it could be turned on or off when viewing and searching. If the contents of the comment should even -be- searchable...

I don't think it would be in the area of an individual post's attributes, since I and another number of n users could have a comment on a single post.

I understand that you won't race to do it, I have enough humble sense not to expect it in the next release, but I do appriciate the answer.

Hi

Is it possible to add a feature where i could categorize posts into Very Important Posts, Important Posts, Less Important Posts and so on.  In other words have a dropdown menu called Categories by the side of My Posts link or a thread, which when expanded will allow us to add any post/thread to a selected category. The reason i ask is many times i want to be able to classify posts into these categories. Not sure if you see my point. Thought i would ask.

Thanks,

Sailu
