As a follow up to my last post, it turns out that I do have the McAfee Anti-phishing filter add-on, and disabling it did in fact fix the problem.

Maybe there is still some value in changing the code to work around the problem.  Are we now stuck modifiying the code to deal with the lowest common denominator since many end users are likely to have this add-on?  Anxious to hear what the best, most browser-compatible solution is in this case...

Matt,

Thanks for posting your findings.  Just eyeballing your workaround seems that it would be an IE specific fix, as other browsers don't inherently suppor the global event object.  I am not sure it is worth the effort changing to code to fix what appears to be a bug with McAfee's product, as I would hope they provide an update soon.  I am assuming that DNN is not the only website affected here.  Please post any relevant updates to the situation.

I found out that my Mcafee virus checker phishing checker was causing the problem of making the sections collapse.

Thanks so much PacaVista for getting to the bottom of this problem. Its been driving me crazy for a while. Let me add some search terms so other poor folks can find it too. I was searching for collapsible panels and visibility in IE7 and expanding advanced settings. Thanks

It is nice that we have found the reason for this problem.  Nice job adding the search terms, it was hard to find.

However this is not a solution, I doubt that Mcaffe is going to change their Phishing filter because DNN has problems with it.  What is the solution here?  Do we just have to remove the dnn:Visibility command from the Containers?  Is DNN coming out with a solution?
