Hi all Dn'Nukers.

When new modules and DNN version's arive, there is a lot of work 'screaming' at you for translating it to your own language. I tried Googles translater tool ( http://translate.google.com/translate_t ) and i find it very good to work with.

Just copy the english text to the input field and click Translate, then you only have to finetune the text a little.

IDEA! Maybe, in some years, DNN can call Google directly, so we can have dynamic language translation ???

Niels,

FYI: the first translation of DotNetNuke was an automated one into German. That was the reason, I took over responsibility for the German language packs, but starting from the scratch

Yeah...  With the few languages that i can stumble through, I can tell you that there isn't an automated translation tool out there that correctly translates yet.  It would take some HIGHLY complex algorithms to determine context, slang, various dialects, etc.  The technology simply isn't there yet.

Out of interest, did you see my post about using Google Translate on my poker site? (you can see the flags in the top right). I guess it depends on the site and the level of accuracy required. For my site it is helpful to non-english speakers, but I have had reports that it is not actually that helpful as it is too inaccurate. I guess in 10 years it may be better   ;)
