I have a customer that is translating their site from English to Japanese.  NOTE:  (I have installed the Japanese language pack).  They recently sent me the following email:

|---
When we do Page Setting (when we translate Page Details such as Page Name, Page Title and Description), an address of the page is changed (translated). For example, when we implement Page Setting on the “Products” page, the address is changed from http://jpn.spray.com/product/tabid/36/Default.aspx  to http://jpn.spray.com/製品/tabid/36/Default.aspx . According to the member, this change might be a problem with regard to SEO (Search Engine Optimization). This is because the page will not be searched on Yahoo Japan, Google Japan and the like, if the part of the address is Japanese (in this case, 製品(Japanese translation of product).

Not knowing japanese or having the japanese version of the browsers they are using (if there is such a thing)... I am not sure how to help them.

Suggestions?

Doug

disable to include page path in URL by editing web.config:

search for line starting with

 < add name="DNNFriendlyUrl"

in this line replace

includePageName="true"

with

includePageName="false"

Great!  That seems to have done the trick.  The user will verify that is what they wanted when they wake up in Japan!

Thanks....again!
