Thanks for all the info on this thread. I got AD auto login working without any difficulties.

I need to go one step further an looking for some assistance.... The questions I have are:

1) Is the AutoLogin only available in IE? I've tried FF and NS ad they present me with the popup box asking for authentication.

2) If a user is NOT authenticated using AD (pressing cancel on the windows authentication popup box when trying to access the site) can they still access the site as an anonymous user (if you press cancel all you get is "You are not authorised to view this page")?
You can browse the site as a anonymous, but it requires you to logout once you have already authenticated (as you see the login link). We have other users on our network that we would like to see the intranet but don't trust their domain in our AD Domain structure.

Many thanks for any suggestions

Regards,

simon

1.) Unfortunately it looks that way. I never realized that it didn't work nicely with Firefox until I was doing some unrelated testing (checking a new skin) on an AD site. I don't think this is something that can fixed by DNN as it's taking place outside of the code but I haven't had a chance to check it out thoroughly either.

2.)  You would have to go into a mixed-mode setup. Basically if you comment out the <add name=Authentication.... /> in the web.config you're in mixed mode. The side effect of this is that autologin stops working but users can still log in using Domain\Username and entering their password. Some have written custom code to get around the problem but it's not something that can be added to the project as it's very specific.
