Hi all,

I have AD authentication working OK, but the random log-off issue I've read about is causing me some problems and I wonder if anyone has a work-around.

I often having problems when editing content (automatically logged in as a Windows user).  For example, when clicking update inside the HTML module, the page will redirect back to itself and the update isn't made... it happens ~20% of the time.  Also, I think a side effect of browser caching in an authenticated session is that each time I am silently logged off and back on again, the browser (an IE bug) checks for new versions of all graphics and it's much slower and redraws the page.  Firefox doesn't exhibit this problem...

I'm surprised I don't see more discussion on this issue and so wonder if I'm the only one with these pains.

Has anyone modified the provider code to address what I'm experiencing?  If so, please share.  Thanks!

Kel

I'm hoping it's fixed in the next release of the provider (in the Release Tracker now). Kevin Hoskins donated some code that fixes it in his environment and in my testing it has worked as well.

Unfortunately there's not much we can do about the random re-authentication as that's a .NET/IIS issue.

Hi Mike, thank you... you've given me hope.  I didn't think this issue was addressed in the pending release after checking Gemini, so I'm happy to hear it is.  I recall a long post by John with some code to fix the nested groups issue and domain name logon prefix, etc.  Again, didn't know that code addressed this issue too.  Thanks again - will have a look for it.

I don't think so Dan. Similar but in this case it would happen whenever the Windows Authenticated site would recycle and check the credentials against the AD again.
