I created a new LDAP Authentication Provider that is modelled after the AD provider.  This provider needs to reference some custom tables and stored procedures to do role assignment for users based on LDAP roles.  As part of the module installation I have SQLDataProvider files that create the tables and stored procedures.  I have noticed that when I install the Authentication provider none of the SQL scripts are run.  It is able to read all the files, but no database changes are done.  Is this how it is supposed to be that no SQL scripts are run when installing an authentication provider or am I missing a step?  Please help.

Thanks,

Chhavi

Hi Chhavi,

I'll have to check the package code that Charles wrote to see if it does look to execute scripts. There's a chance in the DNN 4 versions he doesn't as none of the default providers needed it. However, in DNN 5 the package code is used for all modules/providers/skins/etc. so I know it runs them there.

Hi Mike,

Did you get a chance to look into this?  If what you said is true for version 4, is there another way to automatically run the scripts when the module is installed or the only way to handle it is to request the Host to run these SQL statements under the Host->SQL menu?

Thanks,

Chhavi

No I didn't. I'll try to look at it today if I get a chance or, at minimum, over the weekend.

EDIT: I just looked at the files and there is a case statement for SQL files. Would you be willing to send your authentication package to me (mhorton@telus.net) so that I could take a look at it and see what happens on the install?

Mike,

I had emailed you the code earlier this week.  Did you get a chance to look into this?

Thanks,

Chhavi
