Not sure if I asked this before and the forum search s*cks...

Does DNN with AD setup have the ability to auto generate a user account? AD authentication works fine as long as I have manually created the account with domain\username. It seems to me as long as a new user is in the IP range I set it could check if user exists and if not, create the account. May be considered a security issue. Please advise. Thanks!

Hello Ken,
What version of the AD provider are you using?

Are you using Windows Authentication or forms Authentication in your web.config? The problem you describe is one that I've heard of when the web.config has been switched to Windows Authentication. I think the problem is that there are additional switches needed in the web.config and I'll have to hunt through my old posts to see if I can find some that I've suggested be tried before.

Okay so it's not the problem I though it was. What Server OS are you running on?
