I have both LiveID and DNN logins enabled, but would prefer to have the LiveID login as the default.  How can I do this?

If I understand you correctly you want LiveID to be the first option when someone goes to login and they have to click on the Standard Login button if they want to sign in that way correct?

It's a little bit of a hack but if you open the Authentication table you'll see the list of providers that you've installed. It's also the order in which they appear on the Login screen so because the DNN provider is the first record in the table it shows up first. What you need to do is make a copy of that row and paste it in after the LiveID row. Then you can remove the first record and now LiveID will show up first. (Make a backup of your database before making any changes just in case things go awry).
