Hi,

I am planing to implementing AD for my DNN on local intranet.

My plan is to give certain users, EDIT Permissions, so I want to delegate works on Intranet.

Will all these users need to have administrative privileges on Active Directory to be able to to do the updates, because I don't want to make give them these privileges on domain AD.

Thanks in advance

Hello,
IMHO, I think the best way to proceed would be to create a separate DNN Role that will have edit acces, and then place your specific users in that role.  This way you don't grant your users any privileges in AD, but they'll have privileges in DNN.

Hope that helps!

What Scott says is the right way to go.

Thanks a lot Scott and Mike. I managed to make AD Authentication working. Great Job Mike, I followed instruction in one of topics in forum. Saved my life.

Another question I have is: I have around 500 users on Active Directory, organized in Active Directory Groups. I want to set permission based on these groups on intranet.

Is there a way that I can use these Groups to create the Roles, in order not to this for every user.

Thanks a lot.

Bashkim

If the DNN Security Role matches the AD Group's Pre-Windows 2000 group name (look under the properties for the group, sometimes it's different than the AD name) and synchronize roles is checked then users should be automatically added to those roles when they log in.
