I have the AD authentication set up. Went through the documented setup steps several times to make sure I didn't miss anything. I get all green "Ok" in Admin authetication settings. Checked permissions on the .aspx file. Performed any required modifications to the web.cofig. But when I try to log in using IE, it doesn't allow my domain users to authenticate. It does, however, let me authenticate with my local admin account from my web server. The Login dialog box shows "Connect to <webserver>.<domain>.com" instead of "Connect to www.<domain>.com".

I tested using Firefox and AD authentication works just fine for domain users. I just don't understand what's going on here.

Hello,
I've ran into this issue a few times myself.  After some research, I found the issue revolved around IE always attempting to authenticate via Kerberos, as opposed to NTLM.  Microsoft published a KnowledgeBase article on this,

The command I used to execute was this: C:\Inetpub\AdminScripts>cscript adsutil.vbs set w3svc/NTAuthenticationProviders "NTLM"

A word of caution though, this will modify your IIS Metabase settings.  Make a backup of it before you execute this command, just in case.

So the way I had it set up was to have a link to WindowsSignin.aspx on my login page (I didnt like the buttons and format). If I show the buttons, the AD auth is now working. My original setup had worked before moving to a production server. It's still strange how it would work in FF but not IE. I'm still troubleshooting to get this thing working as originally intended.

@Scott Allender

That did it! Thank you so much for the help. I would have never found that for myself.
