The problem is caused by JavaScript Ajax.

The easy solution is this http://www.mitchelsellers.com/blogs/articletype/articleview/articleid/268.aspx

Sorry but it's not the cause of the problem. THis is happening after the provider has been installed and the problem you linked to on Mitch's site prevents the provider from being installed.

This could be coincidence.  I was getting the same error after upgrading to 4.9 and 1.0.4 for AD.  Finally got to where I was getting the full Trust or IIS6 compatibility.  It could be luck but here is what I did that fixed it.  My original web.config had

 <add name="Authentication" type="DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule, DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory" />

as the very last entry in httpModules.  I didn't think it would work but moved it to the first entry, and the error went away about being in Full Trust or IIS6.

That line is needed for automatic logins to work but you're right, that's where the code call that's causing the error message is coming from. I've got code in there to check that the system is running in Full Trust/IIS 6 Classic mode. However the problem some are seeing is that they're getting that error even when they are in that mode.

Why can't this module work in a medium trust environment?  I'm getting the message, but I am running in a Medium trust environment, and I have medium trust specified in my DNN web.config file.  Thanks.
