Hello,

I have a basic question about A/D authentication. I have this up and working and I can logon using my A/D credentials. I do not see a way when creating a new portal to assign a user from my A/D. Is this possible with the Provider, or is it only used for viewing the pages?

I would like to select a current A/D user and then create a portal without having two seperate logins. Im sure there is a way to do this, but I cannot find it.

TIA

Jason

Since I installed this latest provider, I have been able to do that here on a whole bunch of portals. It's not the most direct way, but it works.

1. I create the portal.

2. I log into that portal with either a superuser or administrator account.

3. I setup the AD authentication.

4. I create a link to the WindowsSignIn.aspx file on that portal.

5. I get the future administrator of that portal to click on that link so their AD account information is entered into that portal.

6. I then assign that user to that Administrators role.

That's about it, the next time that AD user logs in, they are a portal administrator.  If I can figure out a way to assign the AD user "without" having them click on that link, that would save me a lot of time.

Forgot to mention, here is how I set up the links:

Parent Portal:
http://servername/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx

Child Portal:
http://servername/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx?alias=servername/portalname
