Thought I WOULD ASK AROUND FIRST.    I feel I cannot be alone in wanting to run other applications under the DotNetNuke Membership / Role model. I emphasize Role  because I am aware that DNN uses the ASPNet Membership/users model.  It seems it in part duplicates some user data storage. I thought I would check around if someone may have already implemented a SqlRoleProvider that uses  done this and can share.
Implementing this http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/8fw7xh74(v=vs.100).aspx
Is
not difficult but  not trivial either.

I see more than one solution

It could be done by keeping the  existing sqlroleprovider  intact and using some clever triggers to keep the aspNET role tables in sync.

That in combination with maybe rewriting  some stored procedures.

OR

Implement  the  public class SqlRoleProvider : RoleProvider  { }   As described in the link  above.

Wondering if either of these methods has been done?
